Network development & Revenue Growth


  • Several executive roles in network planning for major legacy carriers, with fleet count ranging from 20- 450 aircraft

  • Lead Northwest Airlines’ International Network Planning team to optimize its leading Pacific franchise and its Atlantic franchise which was in a joint venture with KLM

    ❖ optimized deployment of 50-60 widebody aircraft

    ❖   laser focus on optimizing NW’s Tokyo Narita 316 weekly slot portfolio, second only to the JAL portfolio

    ❖    established Tokyo Narita connecting bank structure schedule (named Fugu)

    ❖    developed transition of some Pacific routes from 747 to A330

    ❖    notable new Pacific routes: Detroit-Nagoya, Minneapolis-Tokyo, Osaka & Hong Kong, Seattle-Osaka & Hong Kong, Portland-Tokyo

  • Built Qatar Airways’ aggressive expansion connecting West -East, developing a strong connecting hub in Doha whilst fighting off aggressive competition

    ❖    introduction of 20-25 new aircraft per year

    ❖    Oversaw 46% schedule frequency expansion during three year period with a 74% seat growth

    ❖    Developed initiative to grow short-haul narrowbody markets to generate additional for Doha hub; e.g., Doha to secondary Saudi and Pakistan markets

  • Implemented Aeromexico’s aggressive expansion from Mexico City

    ❖    Introduced the 737 MAX to build MEX hub fleet to 130 aircraft

    ❖    grew new AM/DL Mexico-USA joint venture 15+ routes focusing not only on Mexico City routes by also secondary city routes, e.g., Queretaro-Atlanta

    ❖    established new international long-haul network from Mexico City to Amsterdam and Seoul and from Monterrey and Guadalajara to Madrid 

  • Expanded CP Air/Canadian’s international network with Toronto-Tokyo and Vancouver-Nagoya new routes and frequency expansion  

    ❖    Developed expanded Atlantic network plan incorporating Wardair acquisition, e.g., London and Paris

  • Refocused TAAG’s Network Strategy on growing frequency coverage in established markets

    ❖    Assessed numerous new market opportunities (DOM & INT)

    ❖    Managed TAAG’s schedule in a heavily constrained fleet and crew environment 

  • Fully supported the development and implementation of flight profitability systems to aid efficient route management by assessing short-, medium- & long-term viability and bottom-line financial impact.


Strategic Alliances


  • Member of the NW/KL Network Working Group overseeing all aspects of the combined network and scheduling planning on the North Atlantic JV

    ❖   Combining two 4% market share carriers enabled the resulting 8% joint venture to punch above its weight

  • Member of the AM/DL Network Executive Working Group overseeing all aspects of he combined network and schedule planning on the USA-Mexico JV

    ❖   AM/DL JV grew to have a 50% market share on Mexico City-USA markets

 

Fleet Planning


  • Participant in NW acquisition studies for 747, DC10, A330 and 787 aircraft

  • Managed scheduled introduction of QR A380 and A350 aircraft

  • Advocate for AM acquiring the 737 MAX 9 to complement the 737 MAX 8

  • Leader of CP 767-300ER and 747-400 acquisition studies

  • Involved in the TAAG 787 and A220 acquisitions including LOPA design
